Dyslexia assessments and advice for schools

We offer full diagnostic assessments to schools at a slightly discounted rate. For students where there is a concern over literacy but the student is below the age of 8 we can also offer assessments to help identify suitable support in school. Assessments to support requests for statutory assessment and EHCPs can also be made on request, please contact to discuss your needs.

For secondary schools we can support SENCos with their access arrangements, ensuring that the right arrangements are in place for GCSE and A level examinations.

Exams Access Arrangements

Exams access arrangements assessment to identify if a student may be entitled to extra time or a scribe.

A Form 8 with part 1 fully completed must be received at least five working days before the assessment date.

£50 per student.

A day rate may be available upon request.

Highlight Assessment

Please note this assessment will not diagnose dyslexia and cannot be used for Disabled Students Allowance.

Assessment takes approximately 1.5hrs and focuses on underlying ability and some aspects of literacy with one other core area such as working memory or processing focused on.

A short report with recommendations for support is included in the fee.

This assessment is ideal for children age 6-7 who are too young for a full diagnostic assessment, but where there are already concerns about their progress in literacy.

Observations in class and more detailed recommendations about in school support can be included in the report for an additional fee of £50.

Full Dyslexia Assessment

A full diagnostic assessment, this assessment will last approximately three hours.

A comprehensive report with detailed strategies to support learning in both school and at home will be produced.

If requested a phone call or meeting can be arranged with the SENCO or class teacher to discuss the report and the ways in which recommendations could be implemented.

This report can be used to support an application for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA), school and work place adjustments.
